Hi, I'm Emily
I am a mom, entrepreneur, and the founder of Back Office Betties. My journey into business wasn’t just about building a company; it was about creating balance, flexibility, and freedom—for myself, my family, and the small law firms we support. I started Back Office Betties in 2014 with a mission to take administrative headaches off lawyers’ plates, giving them back their time and sanity. Today, we’re more than just a virtual receptionist service—we handle client intake, marketing, management, and more, so law firms can focus on winning cases instead of juggling paperwork.
Being a mom is my first priority, and that’s shaped the way I run my business. I believe in designing a life that allows me to be present for my family while still making an impact. That’s why I’m passionate about supporting other entrepreneurs, whether it’s mentoring business owners as an Accelerator Coach for Entrepreneurs’ Organization, teaching formerly incarcerated individuals how to start businesses through Inmates to Entrepreneurs, or guest lecturing at Texas A&M. Along the way, my work has been featured in BBC News, Entrepreneur Magazine, and more—but at the end of the day, my greatest success is building a business that gives both my team and our clients the freedom to thrive.
Beyond the Business
When I’m not running Back Office Betties, you’ll find me making the most of life outside the office. I love spending time with my two boys, floating down the river, and connecting with fellow entrepreneurs at networking events. One of my favorite getaways is traveling to Panama, where my family is from, to soak up the culture and sunshine. But on the best days, I’m fully embracing relaxation—pineapple drink in hand, toes in the sand, and (secretly) not a single email in sight.
